Kookaburra Gite
La Redorte is a thriving village situated right on the borders of the Minervois and Corbieres wine growing regions. Just a short drive away to the West is the Medieval city of Carcassonne and to the east the ancient Roman port of Narbonne. The area is steeped in history and it is within easy driving distance of some stunning scenery, cathar castle ruins and the towns of Minerve and Lagrasse which have links with the Roman occupation.
The region has numerous activities for all ages including cycling and walking routes, go-karting, gorges and rock climbing to name a few. Lake Jouarres is minutes away with it’s lakeside beach area, windsurfing, pedalos, bbq and picnic area or perhaps you would prefer to sit back and enjoy a glass of red or a cold beer in one of the many restaurants or bars in the area.
If you prefer not to stray too far from the village itself there are tennis courts and a bouledrome and the canal is a 5 minute walk away. Or why not relax with a good book in the privacy of Kookaburra Gite’s back garden? There are many organised local festivals and a 5 minute drive away in Olonzac there is a colorful local market every Tuesday morning with fresh produce, clothes and art objects.
Whatever your idea of the ideal holiday there is definitely something for everyone whether it be wine tasting, water sports, sightseeing or just relaxing on the beach with a good book.

Guestbook
"La Redorte- a spacious, light, clean and welcoming holiday house, very modern and comfortable, the kitchen was fantastic, so we could cook and entertain our friends. We particularly liked the short walk to the shops (pharmacy, patisserie, post office). The people in the village were friendly and most helpful as our French was limited. It was very quiet, so we could sleep soundly! Thank you for the wonderful memories!!"
